Grace and Peace is yours in Christ Jesus.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here to study with me. If this is your first time here, you are so welcome. If you’re back, a double blessing be on you.
The standard request is get something to write with and something to write upon and your NIV Bible if you have it, if not, you can see it here on Biblegateway.
Before we begin, let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for this book. Every chapter has been so wonderful. Come, lead us through this one too. Reveal what You want us to see and write this lesson through my hands and mind. To bring you glory, Lord, is all I want to do here. Praise be to your Name. Amen.
Read Hebrews 8:1-2
The High Priest of a New Covenant
The main point. There is a difference in how you understand if you read only one chapter at a time. If you haven’t read chapter seven that probably means little to you. So if you haven’t, go back and read it first if not the whole book to this point.
The main point of what they’re saying is this: Jesus really is our high priest.
Read Hebrews 8:3-6
The new covenant is established on better promises.
Read Hebrews 8:7-9
The fault – they did not remain faithful to His covenant. Yet it was always His plan to send Christ. Read Ephesians and you’ll see that. Christ was the One who brought the New Covenant. And now He serves as the mediator of it ‘above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every name that can be invoked not only in this age but also in the one to come.’
Read Hebrews 8:10-12
This is the covenant. Oh how I love the way God has laid out the plan in this book we all have. Read it my friends.
Read Hebrews 8:13
The only Covenant that exists is the New Covenant and in it, you are free, not just from sin, but free to live an abundant life in Christ.
Praise and glory and blessing to you You, Lord Jesus. For all You’ve accomplished for us and continue to accomplish in us. And for the promise that we are eternally safe in You, always known by You and You are always right here with us. You surround us on all sides and go before us to prepare the way. You are the only way to have it all. I choose You. In Your name, I pray. Amen.
