This is a short chapter, and all of praise so let’s just read all six verses. Then maybe we can learn some ways to praise when our thoughts can’t think of anything. Or if we just need some encouragement to praise Him.
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, I praise You and thank You for all You’ve done for me this last week and for what You’re going to reveal in this chapter. Thank You for leading and helping us all study. All to praise You, Lord. Amen.
1 And on that day you will say,
“I will give thanks to You, O Lord;
For though You were angry with me,
Your anger has turned away,
And You comfort me.
2 “Behold, God, my salvation!
I will trust and not be afraid,
For the Lord God is my strength and song;
Yes, He has become my salvation.”
3 Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the springs of salvation.
4 And in that day you will say,
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name [in prayer].
Make His deeds known among the peoples [of the earth];
Proclaim [to them] that His name is exalted!”
5 Sing praises to the Lord,
for He has done excellent and glorious things;
Let this be known throughout the earth.
6 Rejoice and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.
‘On that day’ – the last verse of chapter 11 was referring to the Israelites leaving Egypt. But ‘that day’ can be any day when you want to thank Him, which should be every day for absolutely everything is from Him.
“Behold, God, my salvation!
I will trust and not be afraid,
For the Lord God is my strength and song;
Yes, He has become my salvation.”
A wonderful response. A wonderful way to live. Trust and do not fear. For He is our strength and song and most certainly our only salvation.
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name [in prayer].
Make His deeds known among the peoples [of the earth];
Proclaim [to them] that His name is exalted!”
Proclaim His deeds and Exalt His Name, ‘for He has done excellent and glorious things;’.. Let it be known throughout the earth.’
Rejoice!
For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.
Yes, the Holy One of Israel is Jesus! Praise Him and Rejoice. Sing to Him and Pray. Proclaim His glorious Name. Trust always in Him, for He is faithful. And yes, He is in your midst too. Trust Him. Thank Him. Praise Him. Share what He’s done for you. Proclaim His excellent and glorious deeds.
Hope this one made you so excited, especially after last week’s wonderful news that one day there will be no hurt or destruction as the whole kingdom will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. Praise His Holy Name.
