Today we’re going to be reading 3 verses and looking at a couple others that corroborate with this. Let your heart be lifted and your spirit enlightened and let it all bring you to worship our Lord and our Savior, the Rock of Ages and the Eternal One.
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, this chapter has a lot in it, but in these three verses I see You and You are Who I want to focus on. So lead me, help me see and Lord, speak through my hands. For Your Glory, Lord.
Isaiah 44:6-8 – Amplified Bible
The Eternal One
Please read verses 6-8
6 “For the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer,
the Lord of hosts says this,
‘I am the First and I am the Last;
And there is no God besides Me.7 ‘Who is like Me? Let him proclaim it and declare it;
Yes, let him confront Me,
Since I established the people of antiquity.
And let them [those supposed gods] tell those people [who foolishly follow them] the things to come
And the events that are going to take place.
Our Rock
8 ‘Do not tremble nor be afraid [of the violent upheavals to come];
Have I not long ago proclaimed it to you and declared it?
And you are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
There is no other Rock;
I know of none.’”
1 Samuel 2:2
“There is no one holy like the Lord, There is no one besides You, There is no Rock like our God.
Revelation 22:12-13
12 “Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds (earthly works, faithfulness). 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One].”
Our Eternal Rock is Worthy
He is worthy of all our praise. If you happen to read the rest of chapter 44 you will see there is a discourse on the folly of idols, the incapability of idol worshipers to know that they are worthless. It’s not the things we create we should worship. It’s the Creator Himself that we should worship in our every day.
The Lord liveth and blessed be the Rock
and let the God of my salvation be exalted!
