6 But now that Timothy has come back to us from [his visit with] you, and has brought us good news of your [steadfast] faith and [the warmth of your] love, and [reported] that you always think kindly of us and treasure your memories of us, longing to see us just as we long to see you, 7 for this reason, brothers and sisters, during all our distress and suffering we have been comforted and greatly encouraged about you because of your faith [your unwavering trust in God—placing yourselves completely in His loving hands]; 8 because now we really live [in spite of everything], if you stand firm in the Lord.
Good news of your steadfast faith.
The Warmth of your Love.
That you always think kindly of us.
You treasure your memories of us.
Longing to see us just as we long to see you.
For this reason:
We have been comforted
And greatly encouraged
Because of your unwavering trust in God: your faith.
Because you place yourselves completely in His loving hands.
We really live … if you stand firm in the Lord.
Very encouraging that it mattered to him whether the work he had done to preach and teach them had lasted and grown and they continued to believe. Praise the Lord for the church. For His ecclesia. His gathering.
Your faith matters as well. Maybe you don’t have anyone who counts on it here but God sure does. He wants you to have faith. He wants you to believe Jesus came from Him and died for you and lives forever and He will return.
Thank Him and Praise Him all day long.
