I think we can call it popularity because they came when they learned He was there. Unfortunately it’s threatening the establishment so His Time is nearly upon Him.

⁹ A large crowd of Jews learned that He was there [at Bethany]; and they came, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead.

That we would understand and believe who He says He is.
