You made it to the final part of Acts 11 today! Whoo hoo! Come see the prophets and all the activity at the now non-existent church in Antioch.
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for getting us through this chapter. So many amazing things happen in this church Lord. Yet it’s not what it used to be today. Whether it exists or not, I don’t even know. But I pray that You will be with all the believers in hostile countries and help them have such confidence in You that they live how You want them to. May we all, Lord. In Your Name I pray.

Prophets come
27 Now at this time some prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. 28 One of them named Agabus stood up and prophesied through the [Holy] Spirit that a severe famine would come on the [a]entire world. And this did happen during the reign of [b]Claudius. 29 So the disciples decided to send a contribution, each according to his individual ability, to the believers who lived in Judea. 30 And this they did, sending the contribution to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.
Footnotes
[a] entire world – Acts 11:28 I.e. beyond the region.
[b] Claudius – Acts 11:28 Claudius Caesar was the fourth Roman Emperor (a.d. 41-54). He came to the throne after the assassination of his nephew, Caligula. He was succeeded by his adopted son, Nero.
Responsive to needs of fellow believers. That’s what they were. Yes, Prophets still exist, but mostly they are just among us as normal believers who are used by God to make sense of today. May we all be blessed to know God is working in our day too.
