Lord Jesus, thank You for this chance to study, thank You for this book and chapter to study, thank You for today and the assurance that You are always with me. Thank You for taking over here and leading us in such a way that we can learn what is being explained here. All for Your glory, dear Lord. Amen.

The difference between rebuke and exhort… (using m-w.com)
Rebuke: to criticize sharply : REPRIMAND
Exhort: to give warnings or advice : make urgent appeals
If you hadn’t noticed, so far, this chapter starts with how to live with people in a way that shows and honors God. Specifically, those people addressed here are ____.
Read 1 Timothy 5:3-6
Putting your religion into practice as displayed here is to care for one another, specifically family members. The best part is ‘this is pleasing to God’.
Read 1 Timothy 5:7-8
Wow, to not provide for your relatives and especially your own household is to deny the faith and it’s worse than an unbeliever. I hope no-one reading this is too harshly convicted over those words, but encouraged to do what is best for the ones you live with (love them) and be kind and helpful to everyone else.
Now, how to provide for them. I wonder if it has to do with something I was reading to my girl last night about being assured that God will help, you are never alone, all His promises are true and He knows you. We read the In Touch yearly devotional for kids. Always, always, always speaks to me too.
Read 1 Timothy 5:9-10
List a few good deeds.
Read 1 Timothy 5:11-15
The ‘first pledge’ isn’t getting remarried, it’s stated as ‘overcome their dedication to Christ.’ Watch yourself. Let your dedication to Christ be the number one, highest priority in your life no matter your age or whether or not you are a widow or a wife.
Give the enemy no opportunity for ________________.
Watch yourself. Stay in the faith.

Not all of us can be preachers or teachers, but we are all loved by God and should remain faithful.

Good deeds are obvious, even those that are not cannot remain hidden forever. All will be revealed.
