Grace and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Yes, it’s a rather standard greeting in Paul’s letters but in this case, I’m not giving it a reference. Grace to you and Peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We’re swimming in grace, Christ is our Peace and so very much more. So to begin this third chapter of second Timothy let’s pray.
Lord Jesus, thank You for this letter, these words, the reminder to stop and write with You and whatever You’re going to reveal in the study of this chapter. Thank You for the rest and the joy we will all feel through the studying. Guard our hearts and grow our faith and lead us, Lord. In Your precious name, I pray. Amen.
I’m in the NIV, you can find it here if you don’t have one. Grab something to write with and something to write in or on as there is liable to be something we need to make note of within this chapter too.
Read 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (because it’s one sentence till then)
Write out the second sentence.
Read 2 Timothy 3:6-9
Write verse 9.
Read 2 Timothy 3:10-13
A Final Charge to Timothy
Write the sentence that begins, Yet the Lord…
Read 2 Timothy 3:14-17
But as for you, continue in what you have learned.
The Holy Scriptures are able to …. (Write from there to the end of the sentence.
That is why we study. Read, read, read and study. And do it all with prayers for revelation and wisdom and understanding. Because… write verses 16-17.
Wow, a short one, wasn’t it?
Thank You, Jesus for these words of warning and encouragement. Thank You for Your leading, Your help and Your constant presence. All for You, Lord. Amen.
