Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Welcome to chapter ten of Daniel at afaithtalk.com. I’m so glad you’re here. This is another vision chapter and I’m certain Jesus is going to help us see everything we need to see.
I’m switching to the AMP now so find yours or just go here to bible gateway. Then you can be sure you’ll be reading what I’m reading and asking too.
So let’s start with prayer.
Lord Jesus, I want to first thank You for a version like the AMP and it’s extra explanations which almost always add to my study rather than confuse. Thank You for blessing us with so many translations to read. Lord, still, I can’t do this without You, so please reveal and explain what even this version can’t do for me and for anyone else who is reading this. All for Your glory and with complete trust in You. Amen.
Let’s go! Please Read Daniel 10:1
Daniel Is Terrified by a Vision
Oh might we understand as well as Daniel does. It’s up to You, Lord Jesus. Help us.
Read Daniel 10:2-3
Three entire weeks. The full three weeks.
Read Daniel 10:4
Hiddekel = Tigris River
Read Daniel 10:5-6
Can you imagine what he’s seeing?
Read Daniel 10:7-9
He alone saw the vision, the others were overwhelmed with panic and ran away to hide. Yet no strength remained in Daniel. He was weak and scared too. “Then I heard..”
Read Daniel 10:10-11
Daniel Comforted
… highly regarded and greatly beloved…
Read Daniel 10:12
Do not be afraid… from the first day… your words were heard, “I have come in response to your words.”
Did you know, your faith, God so values your faith that He calls you highly regarded and greatly loved as well, and your words are heard too? Be careful what you say. Get so close to God that you hear His voice. He is talking, He will talk to you.
Read Daniel 10:13-14
There is a spiritual realm. This should not shock you. The prince of the kingdom of Persia’s opposition to the angel getting to Daniel means that it is an evil prince. Michael is a chief of the angel princes. With his help, this angel made it to Daniel.
Read Daniel 10:15-17
The memory causes Daniel anguish. His heart is so visible in that. “For how can such a weakened servant of my lord talk with such a being as my lord?”
Read Daniel 10:18-19
“… highly regarded and greatly beloved, do not be afraid. Peace be to you; take courage and be strong.”
“Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
Read Daniel 10:20-21
There is war in the spiritual realm too. Where Daniel is in this nation, this angel is in enemy territory to reveal and strengthen a highly regarded and greatly beloved man of God. I wonder what ‘strengthens himself’ means in the spiritual realm.
This chapter is the set up for the final two in this book, but while we await the continuation, consider what it is that Daniel’s life is so close to God that angels come in response to his words. Still we have the Spirit of the Living God in us. Responses don’t have to come that way anymore.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being right here with us, so close that all we must do is listen. This is an amazing chapter, Lord. The wonder and the proof of Your Kingdom is visible in the angels words. Draw us close, Lord, make it easy to hear You when we draw near. In Your name and for Your glory, I pray. Amen.
