Good morning and welcome back to afaithtalk.com for Bible Study! This is lesson 3 in our study of 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. There is only one after this, but do not fear, more will come as soon as Jesus tells me what to do.
The Day of the Lord

As a breastplate, put on _________ and ________ and the hope of salvation as a ____________.
Were you previously aware that Paul wrote about the armor? What a delight it was to run across this in this study. Faith and Love are your breastplate. Hope is your helmet. Wow. I find it so wonderful when topics cross books. It happens all the time, this is why I’m constantly saying the whole Bible is consistent.
Read 1 Thessalonians 5:9
The Day of the Lord shall not surprise the Children of Light.
We will be rescued.
We will be delivered.
We will be saved from God’s wrath because of Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:9
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!
Read 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11
He, Jesus, _______ for us so that, whether we are _________ or __________, we may ________ together with Him. Therefore _____________________ one another and _________ each other _____.
Paul is repeating himself here, it must be very important, encourage one another and build each other up with these words. He’s just wording it differently. Go back to chapter four and read verses 16-18.
Here he’s calling the dead in Christ ________ and those still alive in Christ _________.
There is nothing to fear.
Whether we are alive or asleep, we will not miss out.
Just keep yourself in Christ.
Hold on, with all you have, to your faith.
