Faith is the main thing, the most important thing we can have. This book is full of reasons and I want to encourage you to read the longer studies if you want to get more of it. Those are linked on the same page as this one, and post on Tuesday. Before we look at the verses for today, let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, hold us close, give us the faith to lean totally on You. The faith that trusts You in everything. Thank You, Lord. All for you.
Justification by Faith
Please read Romans 3:28-30.
28 For we maintain that an individual is justified by faith distinctly apart from works of the Law [the observance of which has nothing to do with justification, that is, being declared free of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not also the God of Gentiles [who were not given the Law]? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed it is one [and the same] God who will justify the circumcised by faith [which began with Abraham] and the uncircumcised through [their newly acquired] faith.
I don’t know how it makes you feel, but to know that only Faith matters, it makes me grateful. And while it doesn’t mean we don’t need to walk out our faith in ways reflecting it, it is still knowing that it’s the faith in Christ that matters above it all. So let’s keep working to grow your faith.
