What is the ideal Family Life? It can be different for everyone. Are you a very spiritual individual and raising your children in the church? How about a family that lives by the teachings of the Bible, but never goes into the house of the Lord? What about the family that never mentions the dealings of the Bible and are never mentions the Lord in their homes? I fall into one of these types, my sister in another, and my brother in the third. Does that keep us from loving each other and being there to help each other in any way we could? Of course not!
This section is going to cover all things we struggle with in our home, and how we get past it. And how faith keeps this Momma sane, when the rest of the family insists on testing that sanity!
I am the youngest of 3. My older sister, is the writer of the “A Faith Talk” blog and is very faith-filled and does a lot for her church. My brother comes next in our crew and has a full-time job and a side Kona Ice Truck business and a few star athlete kids that keep his life busy, never mentioning the Lord or Bible in his home. I am the baby of the family and we live by what the Bible says, but don’t go to church. My husband had a less than ideal childhood, and mine was next to perfect. What makes a good home to raise children? How is there such a difference in how my brother and sister and I are raising our children when we all came from the same family?
If I start with what I know best, it is my home. A home that is always a whirlwind of activity. My husband and our children (15yr and 5yr), puppy, 4 outdoor cats, 4 cows and 4 chickens, all keep me busy with meals and chores, laundry, cleaning, taking care of boo boos, and B.O. If you have a teenage boy in your home, I am sure you know what I am talking about! And keeping the 5 year old little girl, clean when she wants to be just like her brother and daddy….it is a struggle. Lots of baths, lots of laundry, lots of I’m hungry, I’m bored, and Mom play with me! If this sounds familiar to you, let’s laugh together and share what we have in common!
