Welcome to the Quick Study of Isaiah. We’re in chapter eight today. Just a bit and something to really think about.
Lord Jesus, help us understand, lead us through this and help us learn. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
Please read Isaiah 8:12-14a AMP
Isaiah 8:12-14a
“You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’
In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy,
And you are not to fear what they fear nor be in dread of it.
“It is the Lord of hosts whom you are to regard as holy and awesome.
He shall be your [source of] fear,
He shall be your [source of] dread [not man].
“Then He shall be a sanctuary [a sacred, indestructible shelter for those who fear and trust Him];”
“It is the Lord of hosts whom you are to regard as holy and awesome.”
“He shall be a sanctuary [for those who fear and trust Him]”
So how do we regard Him as holy? Awesome is easier, through giving thanks, but holy? While we know He is holy, how do we regard Him as such?
The best definition of His Holiness is what He’s revealed of Himself in Scripture.
Praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who understands what it is to be human while still being God.
