John 11:33-35 – Amplified Bible
33 When Jesus saw her sobbing, and the Jews who had come with her also sobbing, He was [f]deeply moved in spirit [to the point of anger at the sorrow caused by death] and was troubled, 34 and said, “Where have you laid him?” They said, “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus wept.
When memorizing scripture a lot of people say John 11:35 is the best one to start with. Two words. But those two words make all the difference in how we understand our Lord and Savior. He weeps with us. He knows we grieve yet when we grieve we do so with hope.
