Welcome to afaithtalk.com
It’s Advent week 3 now. Let’s talk about Joy.
As I read the verse of the day often at biblegateway.com I am often reached by Jesus as I do. Last week on the days I checked anyway, it was all in John all Jesus talking and so easy for me to fill in the surrounding story of them that all I felt was Joy.
John 11:25 (Amplified Bible)
Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (adheres to, trusts in, relies on) Me [as Savior] will live even if he dies;”
Chances are that Joy I get is just a gift because I spend a lot of time reading Scripture. In fact I read a chapter every night to my daughter and last night I told her we were instead of reading all the Psalms, going to read just the ones that speak most to me most for a few nights. Much happier today in light of that.
But my hope is you also feel Joy when you read these verses because He is with us.
Death is nothing but a doorway to the Eternal Life of ease and pleasure when you are in Jesus. Nothing to fear. We are eternally safe in Him.
John 14:6 (New International Version)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
The only way to the Father is through Jesus, His Son. He is The Truth. The Way. The Life. Praise His holy Name.
John 15:5,8 (New International Version)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Grafted in we are. Stay connected to the Vine. The fruit He speaks of can only be born when we’re connected to Him. Hence, apart from Him you can do nothing.
But in Him, all the blessings, all the promises, all the life, all the way, all the Truth is in us. He is Peace and Joy filled with Love. Trust Him.
So as we get this much closer to Christmas, draw closer to Him. For He is the reason we celebrate.
Merry Christmas.
