Colossians 1:15-18
The Supremacy of the Son of God
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
What does Supremacy mean to you?
m-w.com: supreme authority or power
The Son (Jesus/Yeshua) is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.
For in him all things were created:
things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things have been created through him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
And he is the head of the body, the church;
he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead,
so that in everything he might have the supremacy.
Yes, He has all the authority and power beyond imagination. I wonder if the reason all this ‘firstborn’, ‘before’, ‘beginning’, ‘firstborn’, talk was all to indicate His right of inheritance? Because in ancient times the firstborn was to inherit the double portion of the inheritance of subsequent children.
He is Creator and Sustainer and Almighty God. Even if He is called God’s Son and gave His life to save all who would believe.
Worthy of all the honor and praise we can render. And every moment of our days focus. Thank You, Jesus.
