It matters, a lot, how you live. We must walk uprightly. With Jesus or without Jesus. This chapter has much to say about those who do not, but one verse of that is sufficient for this. Praise God that the righteous will be spared from disaster and evil. Even if it’s only through death. I don’t know about you, but I find great comfort in knowing that death is viewed as sleeping by God. One day we will be resurrected too.
Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for saving us. Thank you for freeing us. Thank you for giving us these words to know exactly how we should not act, and how we should instead. Lead us through these three verses, Lord. For Your Glory.
Walk Uprightly
1 The righteous man perishes [at the hand of evil],
and no one takes it to heart;
Faithful and devout men are taken away,
while no one understands
That the righteous person is taken away
[to be spared] from disaster and evil.
2 He enters into peace [through death];
They rest in their beds (graves),
Each one who walked uprightly
[following God’s will, living with integrity].
21“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”
Peace is one of the huge promises of God. Our Lord Jesus is the Prince of Peace. His Peace is available to everyone who lives in Him. Following and obeying Him is the way to be in Him. Do what He commands and He will know you. He in you and you in Him. That is the greatest gift. And Peace is promised to all who are in Him.
Yet there is no peace for the wicked. Of that you can be certain. And not thinking about/considering God in all you do is considered wicked. So be very careful how you live.
