Wisdom leads us to Jesus. Really wonderful news as He is whom we all need. Let’s pray:
Lord Jesus, thank You for this chapter and these two verses. Help me take to heart Your words here. Lead me, Lord. Amen.
Matthew 11:18-19 – Amplified Bible
Please read Matthew 11:18-19
18 For John came neither eating nor drinking [with others], and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking [with others], and they say, ‘Look! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners [including non-observant Jews]!’ Yet wisdom is justified and vindicated by her deeds [in the lives of those who respond to Me].”
John the baptist is the John He’s talking about. These are Jesus’ words. Most of Matthew 11 is Jesus’s words. It was really difficult to choose a couple for a quick study today. But here we are. Let’s see if we can learn anything from these.
People are really bad at realizing who someone is by just watching them for a bit. Not everyone is, but a lot of us are. And blanket statements are never right. But wisdom is needed.
According to Jesus, wisdom is what lets you respond to Him; wisdom is at work in you if you respond to Him. And if it leads you to Him, it will be justified and vindicated. He is everything we need. So responding to Him is all we have to do. Yes, Jesus, I believe.
