Our words matter. Today, these two verses Jesus speaks in Matthew 12. Lord, help us. Watch what you say, and what you think. Examine your heart.
Let’s pray:
Lord, guard our hearts and minds and let our mouths only speak what You would want us to speak. Thank You, Lord.

Words
36 “But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak. 37 For by your words [reflecting your spiritual condition] you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt of sin; and by your words [rejecting Me] you will be condemned and sentenced.”
Every careless or useless word people speak. Your words matter a great deal.
A verse or two before this Jesus is talking about what comes out of a person being what is in their heart. So your whole life, your choices in everything matter. What you see, what you read, what you hear, what you say, what you learn, what you think. It all matters. Because only if your words acquit you of the guilt of sin will you be saved. And He is the only One who can tell you whether they are. So repent. And ask Him what to do.
